Paris: An official reception ceremony was held this morning for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at Les Invalides Palace in Paris, on the occasion of His Majesty’s official visit to the French Republic.
As the motorcade carrying His Majesty the Sultan proceeded to the palace courtyard, it was escorted by a group of motorcycles from the French Republican Guard.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival at the palace courtyard, he was received by Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and General Loïc Mizon, Military Governor of Paris. The Commander of the Guard of Honour then gave the military salute and sought His Majesty’s permission to begin the official reception ceremony.
The Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of France were then played. His Majesty the Sultan inspected the Guard of Honour and later shook hands with senior French government officials.
